Project: Bar & Block, Fareham. Fit-out of restaurant and bar, £1.55 million project value, 21 weeks project duration, completed December 2017.
The Bar & Block, Fareham was a new build project and involved fitting out to a very high specification, the restaurant, bar and kitchen areas.
Construction work included:
- Jumbo stud partitions
- M&E installations
- MF ceilings and feature rafts
- Decorative ceiling, wall and floor finishes
- Installation of all general and bespoke joinery items, fixtures and furnishings
- Installation of all kitchen and bar equipment
- External landscaping and decked areas
Project roles and responsibilities included:
- Compiling take-offs, schedules of works, material schedules and subcontractor enquiries
- Pricing elements of works using agreed rates and star rates
- Compiling the tender and negotiating the works
- Reviewing design drawings, compiling RFI and variation schedules and conducting value engineering exercises
- Evaluating and negotiating subcontractor tenders
- Preparing order documentation for subcontractors, materials, labour and plant
- Compiling budgets and producing pre-tender CVR’s
- Producing programmes of work and cash flow statements
- Compiling the health and safety file, prepare the CPP and reviewing all subcontractor RAMS
- Reviewing and agreeing subcontractor and client variations
- Assessing contractual disputes and preparing claims
- Evaluating subcontract valuations, preparing payment certificates and agreeing final accounts
- Preparing client valuations and compiling final accounts
- Producing monthly CVR’s
- Coordinating subcontract works
